Directions: Create a spider web with eight sections.  In each section write the notes for one of the genres and draw a small picture to help you remember what that genre contains.

 

 

Mystery/Suspense: A puzzle that does not get solved until the end

Science Fiction (Sci-Fi): Technology, space, and science in the story.  Often set in the future.

Informational: Provides factual information

Biography: The story of a real person’s life, written by someone else.

Autobiography: A story of a real person’s life, written by the person.

Realistic Fiction: Made up, but it could really happen.

Historical Fiction: A made up story that is set in a specific time in history

Fantasy: Make-believe and magic!
